The reforestation process was started in 1989 with the establishment of project Teakwood I. In the following years, the company planted a total area of 2568.4 hectares. These include a system of permanent monitoring plots, which cover almost 0.84% of the total area planted.

In 1995 Rainforest Alliance (SmartWood program) certified Flor y Fauna S.A. as a WELL MANAGED forestry operation. In 1997 certification of the Chain of Custody (CoC) Process was added; Same year the Rainforest Alliance was accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as a certifying organization under the rules of the FSC.
